Business in the Front, Party in the Back

Landscape Ontario Award of Excellence 2019

These previous clients purchased a home they really loved but felt the grounds lacked a certain something.

In the front yard a walkway divides the front lawn and establishes a sight line to the front door, drawing the pedestrian through deep perennial gardens and stone columns. A low dry stone wall runs the breadth of the property, aesthetically tying the home to the surrounding neighbourhood.

A large Ipe deck with glass railings runs the width of the property in the backyard, providing impressive useable space and terrific views of the ravine below. A large bench-style dining table is protected from the sun with an impressive cantilevered umbrella. A built-in barbecue treatment brings some of the front yard stonework to the back, but is topped with a large thick ‘leathered’ limestone slab.

Two custom servery tables sit adjacent to the dining area. A showstopper fire pit with an 8-foot long flame is framed by 12-foot deep seating couches. Evening lighting makes this a yard you just don’t want to leave. Impressive!
