Baby Point Beauty
Landscape Ontario Award of Excellence 2018
The front yard of this favourite was treated with a very light hand. A tasteful border of reclaimed pavers leads the eye up the driveway to a simple planting of Green Gem boxwood, astilbe and hydrangea. Pedestrians are greeted by a generous flagstone landing and two dramatic urns framing the front doorway.
In the backyard, a central pathway is framed by four low dry stone columns. This walkway provides a sight line that resolves itself at a water weir feature on the lap pool. Perpendicular to this path is another sight line cutting across the yard. The focal point of this vista is a large Rumford Fireplace. Boxwood, Japanese maple, flowering shrubs and perennials soften the four garden quadrants. In the eveninglandscape lighting accents all the right spots.
